Different Forms Of Camping In Colorado

By Joanna Walsh

Outdoor recreation is an activity which has been practised for more than a century. A camper must spend at least one night outside the house in the wilderness. It allows one to be able to appreciate and enjoy nature which is a good way to relax and get away from the busy city life. Camping in colorado is practised by many people who enjoy it in different forms.

The history of camping can be traced to more than one hundred years ago. Back then, there lived a young lad whose parents were tailors. The parents would travel with their son for long distances while carrying out their business. Out of these many trips that included sleeping in the open at times, the lad learnt survival skills. He came to love and appreciate it so much that he formed a group of campers. He went to the extent of writing a book about outdoor recreation.

For the adventurous people, they would consider taking part in outdoor activities that will allow them to spend most of the day on the move. This could be by biking or hiking. They only stop at night to rest and set up a place to sleep. The items they carry need to be light to allow for easy mobility.

Due to new technology which has led to manufacture of light and highly effective equipment, it is possible to have all the things needed to spend nights in the forest fitted to a back pack. This also allows the campers to be able to move into remote areas and do so quickly.

Glamping is also practised. It is about enjoying the comforts of home with the fun and excitement of nature. It is done by the wealthy who want to take their comforts with them into the wilderness. The cargo carried is thus more and may need the use of cars or vans. This was started by rich people who went to Africa and wanted to have the nature experience.

History students as well as their teachers can relive historical times by camping. Reenactment camping would involve going to a place where certain historical events took place and setting up the camp with similar items as those used in the past.

Social groups that have similar interest can decide to go and enjoy some few days together at a designated site. This has been practised especially by families that share close friendship bonds. It has been found that it helps to teach the children positive values that help them later on in life. These social gatherers should share same interests.

People who are interested in challenges and love competitions would largely enjoy less luxurious camp set ups. This may require them to search for their own food and medical supplies in the natural resources around them. They usually travel with the minimum attire needed for basic survival.

Some of the forms of outdoor recreation have been presented here. Depending on ones interests, there are several options to choose from. With proper planning, one can have a great time. It is important to maintain contact with other people so as to seek help when needed.
