For a country to stand and to protect its sovereignty, it must have a well-equipped army and infrastructure that can be used to repel the enemy in case of an attack. The wars that were fought in the past made the government of that day to come up with great structures, which are still standing up to this day. This was a good site for the protection of that location from constant aggression from the Indians and strategic in driving them out. This competition escalated once the whites were increasing in population and the Indians on the other hand became threatened for losing their land to the Americans. The garrison was then built to serve this purpose.

For a war to be castle, supplies must be guaranteed for every soldiers. Food is a must and the weapons. The storage of such basic but important items is crucial. If these rivals either stole or destroyed these supplies the chances of losing the war will escalate. Therefore, the castle offered a safe environment for storing them. It was also used as prisons for the war captives.

Apart from the beneficiaries of this building, there are those who faced difficult circumstances after its construction was completed. The Indians were not too happy with the results the garrison generated against them. It was a disadvantage to them while fighting because they could not carry out ambushes against the American soldiers. Therefore, they failed in defending their territory and had to leave.

The fortress was put in a place where there is an abundance of food. Before the building of this garrison, the Indians had wanted to put up villages in that exact area. This is because it had sufficiency in food that could have supported their livelihoods. The war was all about fighting for survival on the part of the Indians because the Americans were pushing them to desolate places.

When the soldiers, the original owners and builders of the fort stayed in it, they were in charge of protecting it. It is obvious that when a war is fought damages do occur in the process. When the damages are not repaired then the fortress is likely to be brought down during the fight. Therefore, the builders of the fortress were responsible in keeping its walls strong from collapsing.

The garrison is located in a good geographical location with a good atmosphere. The geographical sites around the garrison make it a perfect place to go for business and to stay. One of the reasons that led to the war for that land is the serene environment and its strategic location in natural resources. That locality had a potential to generate enough revenue for the government.
